These Are the Droids You’re Looking For
Everybody who's anybody knows that one of the best motion pictures of all time is the original Star Wars. So what is the best way to pay tribute to such a cinematic masterpiece? That's right, by breaking the film into 472 fifteen second clips and having fans reenact it. Ladies and gentlemen, I present Star Wars Uncut:Star Wars: Uncut Trailer from Casey Pugh on Vimeo.
As confusing as it should be to change actors, style, and even plot details four times per minute, somehow this actually works. There are some completed segments and you can see most of the individual clips on their site. I only wish I had found out about this sooner, so I could take part.
I seriously can't wait until this comes out.
Shock Asylum
One of my college courses this year is called "Posthumanism in Science Fiction" (it actually counts towards the core classes needed to graduate). The instructor, Dan Dinello, used to work with Stephen Colbert back in the 1990s, and recently he decided to show the class one of the short films he made with Colbert, a strange dark comedy called Shock Asylum. Like everything else, it happened to be on YouTube (though this version is shorter than the one I saw), so enjoy:

Nazi Gnome survives court challange in Germany
In a giant leap forward for the rights of garden gnomes, especially golden ones using the Nazi salute, German courts declared gnomes have a "certain abuse potential" (whatever that means). The ruling continues with a warning for others not to "emulate the work".
Here's the link for the story:
