‘’Long Island Lolita’’ Amy Fisher to bare all for Haiti

The ever classy Amy Fisher is apparently returning to her native Long Island to do a strip show, but a portion of the proceeds will benefit relief efforts for Haiti.

The adult club plans on donating a portion of Amy Fishers show to the Haitian disaster relief effort. The famous woman who is known once was known as the "Long Island Lolita" by the age of 17 became a porn star in 2007. The Scene is located at 70 Vanderbilt Motor Parkway in Commack. Ms. Fishers show will be completely nude.

Charity Porn

Natural High, a Japanese extreme pornography company, is pioneering the concept of "Charity Porn". Here's how it works: they've sent one of their porn stars to Africa. It's not clear whether she then has sex with other Japanese actors in African locations, or with African tribesmen. Most reports say it's the latter, but a few dissenting voices claim it's the former. I'm going to leave it to others to resolve this debate.

Anyway, for every one of the resulting DVDs they sell, Natural High donates about $10 to a Kenyan aid organization. Apparently they've had some trouble finding a charity willing to take their money.

The Sociological Images site tries to make some sense of this, suggesting that it might represent "a fetishization of the modernity/tradition binary." They also think that "the videos might function as a sort of sex tourism," but that "the genre is both racist and sexist." This link goes to Sociological Images which contains some NSFW images of the charity porn actress.

My thoughts: Natural High's Charity Porn strangely parallels Burger King's recent Whopper Virgins campaign, in which Burger King hunted down people in remote regions of the world who had so far managed to avoid any exposure to America's junk-food culture (i.e. who had never tasted a Big Mac or Whopper), and then de-virginized them.

Follies of the Mad Men #30

This ad was part of a long campaign for the product, which depicted men and boys doing common tasks in public in their underwear. Kinda the male equivalent of the famous "I dreamed I went to work in my Maidenform bra" series of ads. No matter the possible plausible logic of the creators, this series conjures up nothing so much as a kind of weird nation solely populated by mentally challenged males, where outer clothing has yet to be invented.

Porn in Space

There's controversy about whether anyone has ever had sex in space. If they have, they're not admitting it. So given that, it's no surprise that there's never been pornography filmed in space. Though apparently not for lack of trying. Laura Woodmansee provides some details about this subject in her book Sex in Space:

In the final days of the Mir, Russia was looking for new, capitalist ways to obtain funding to allow the space station to remain operational. One idea that was seriously considered involved allowing a production company to send a pair of actors to the space station to film the first pornographic movie in space. Originally titled, "Space Flight has a Price," the name was changed to "The Last Journey." The story follows a cosmonaut who refuses to leave his scheduled-to-be-abandoned space station, so ground controllers come up with the "brilliant idea" to send a woman up to seduce the wayward cosmonaut into returning home to Earth...

The porn stars were in top shape and ready to have sex in space. Yuri Koptev, the General Director of the Russian Space Agency at the time explained, "Life has made us change our mentality and one has to overcome snobbery when dozens of millions of dollars are involved."

Sadly, the pornographic Mir movie never did happen because the production company could only raise $7 million of the $23 million dollar price that the Russians demanded. The Russian Space Agency wanted the cash first and would not take promises to pay the balance after the film was released. Mir was de-orbited and crashed into the ocean in March 2001.

But Woodmansee notes that there has been pornography filmed in weightless conditions, aboard a plane flying in a ballistic arc flight path to produce temporary weightlessness. She writes:

The Spanish-produced sex video, The Uranus Experiment 2 includes a scene filmed in weightless flight. One particular segment is supposed to depict several male and female astronauts having sex in weightlessness, but was obviously filmed here on Earth, and no amount of rotating camera angles can fool the viewer into believing that this is a weightless shot. But at the end of the scene, the 20-second "money shot" is indeed filmed in weightless conditions on an aircraft.

Sex in Space is a curious book. Despite the racy title, it's actually pretty restrained. Woodmansee, a science journalist, notes that she attempted to balance "the giggle factor with serious scientific questions about reproduction and the future of humans in space."

Salon Kitty

After so many instances in books and movies, the cliche involving hookers who seduce military or business secrets from their clients seems like a total invention. But once upon a time, at least, it was true.
