Will Connell

image
I've just discovered the photography of Will Connell, who had quite a humorous streak and eye for the bizarre, as seen to the right.

Someone has constructed a Facebook page dedicated to him, which features more great shots like the one here.

Fifteen thousand of his photos are archived here. You have to click thru a couple of links (COLLECTIONS to PERMANENT COLLECTIONS to WILL CONNELL COLLECTION), but then you can search to your heart's content.

The Good, The Bad, The Weird

How can we not endorse a movie where the "weird" guy seems to be the hero?

Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster

If the Republicans continue to undo environmental laws, this is obviously where we are headed.

Bieber Meets Vader

Take the audio from James Earl Jones reading a Justin Bieber song and mash it up with the classic light sabre scene, and you have another strange example of how popular culture can be messed up.

How would you use this audio?

For more Vader madness, here's a link to another high quality mashup (warning -- contains Billy Joel Music!!)

Crazy yet?

Goodbye Pussycat…

Sad news today for fans of weird and cult movies. Tura Satana, star of Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! and the Astro-Zombies series has died, aged 72. Famed, and much admired, for her impressive build and distinctive looks, Tura's portrayal of the psychopathic Varla in Faster... won her a sizeable cult following. Which, having somewhat presciently thought to trademark her likeness, belatedly brought Tura some success (Yahoo News).

It is perhaps some small comfort that Ms. Satana will now be spared seeing Kim Kardashian's proposed reprisal of her role in the Tarrantino remake of her signature film, expected out in 2012. For connoisseurs of the original, here's the title sequence, with music courtesy of The Bostweeds.

Booda Ode

This is a Nigerian movie in four parts on YouTube. The description reads:

"Boda Ode (Stupid Brother) is a very funny Yoruba-Dance Nigerian comedy... (English Subtitles). The guy is trying to get a girl, but has no luck. He then goes to the juju priest to try and charm the girl to love him lol. Very funny movie!!"

After watching the first part here, you might agree with my opinion: the Farrelly Brothers have nothing to fear!
