I had one of these. Never did figure out where the "fun" was supposed to come in. The men were mounted on rubber pads that had small "teeth" on the bottom. You hit the switch and the field started vibrating. W O W !

They have their own Super Bowl. I went one year in South Bend...

Yup! I had one too! Looked to me like a bunch of drunken bums randomly running around the field...
Super Fun!

Yet - we would set it up over and over... Then we would start putting things like Lego people on it to see what would happen.

To answer the rhetorical question posed: NO!

I have no idea why my parents bought one for us, but it never did catch on at our house. I think our dog ate all the little felt footballs and the game was really useless after that.

I mean, who wants to find the footballs after the dog was done with them?

We had one of these when I was growing up. There were four of us boys, and we would sit around and play for hours! Sometimes we would throw 'obstacles' in there too. One time we even tried to play it with Transformers!
Ah, simple times....

Expat - I think she is calling you old...

I will admit - 'mine' actually belonged to my older brother...

I had one... the only fun part I remember was turning it on that one time I caught our super-skittish cat sleeping on it

I know some of you young whipper-snappers haven't gotten around to learning cipherin' yet but if you can work out where the "47" in my handle comes in you might get close. Then, there are pictures on my web site!

I Googled for Expat's website but didn't really have a clue as to what it might consist of so I was having trouble finding anything. But then I added his age and I was given the links to the articles about the 47 million year old fossil they found recently. Seemed appropriate, somehow. wink

We had one of these games when I was a sprout. Made a loud NYAAAARRRRRRK sound, The little plastic teams did nothing... I think there was some way to "adjust" the figures with little weights or something, but that didn't help.

My brother used to have one of those in the late 70s, when he was 9 or 10 (I was like 3). I seem to remember him playing with it relatively often.

Never had one of these and I don't think I'd know what to do with one if I had one. I'm not much of a sports person either.

Expat - 47 is my alma mater's (Pomona College in California) "magic number", so I just thought you were super cool. But if you're not, well, I can't help you there.
