Don't expect to see this in the US: RJR's Premiere "smokeless cigarette" did essentially the same thing, i.e. decoupled the nicotine from burning tobacco. The FDA therefore decided that it was a drug delivery system and fell under their purview, and the whole endeavor collapsed. It also collapsed because nobody like them.

Burl, I'd rather suspect the FDA bans these smokeless products because of the loss of tax revenue from cigarette sales.

Steve -- I hadn't actually realized that it was a nicotine delivery device. I thought it simply produced warm, smoke-like vapor. (Duh!) It's obviously more functional if it gives people a nicotine buzz as well as simulating the look of a cigarette.
