Birds to Perform New Guitar Numbers

No, that's not a typo and this is nothing to do with the classic 60s rock band. London gallery and performing arts centre the Barbican is hosting a new work by French "composer" Celeste Boursier-Mougenot in which dozens of zebra finches create improvised compositions by landing and perching on strategically placed electric guitars. Titled the Curve, Boursier-Mougenot's latest installation takes the form of a walk-through aviary, hence the finches' reaction to the visitors becomes itself part of the exhibit. In an interview with the BBC, the composer hinted that his next work will probably involve shoals of goldfish in a tank, and will most likely not be a walk-through (Barbican Centre).

Do they do requests? If so I'll have Lynard Skynyrd's Free Bird or anything by the Black Crows.

After watching the video my only thought was "I wonder what it would sound like if you hung a couple of hummingbird feeders on a theremin?"

Now I can never die happy until I find out! downer

more old school - When The Swallows Come Back To Capistrano (I only know of this song because of an old bugs bunny cartoon I saw when I was little. Don't say cartoons never teach kids anything!)

This is awesome (and the birds play pretty well), but all I could think when I was watching the bird trying to pull the twig out from under the strings was that if one of those strings broke the bird probably wouldn't be able to continue his career...
