Interesting. The Wiki article points out that this disaster was primarily due to subsidence caused by oil extraction, but oil-friendly experts shielded the industry from blame for several decades.

When they don't tell people that their extraction was causing subsidence? Sure, why not blame big oil? I mean, whose fault would it be otherwise, the earth's?
