Are you autistic?

The Autism-Spectrum Quotient Test measures autistic traits in adults. The average score is 16. If you score 32 or higher, no one is saying you're definitely autistic, but you're probably not known for your sparkling social skills. I scored 22, so yeah, I'm on the antisocial side of the spectrum.

I'm a 27 but that's just because the world is filled with boring idiots (except here of course).

And I do what Sam does on WikiP but I like the Random Article button.

I know that they slapped a disclaimer on the top of iy but this seems like another thing that mistakenly makes parents worry about their children. Like any other standardized test, this one is way to generalized. It says that I'm a 16 which is average, but there are things on that list I have trained myself to do that was never really part of my personality when I was younger.

I have forced myself to become good at spreadsheets and databases because of work needs so numbers and logic have creeped into my everyday routine. I am a very amateur armorsmith and like to make chainmail (no, not chain letters) and all the weaves are repeating patterns so now as a byproduct I am really good at analyzing and reproducing patterns. I love music and have always categorized it (power metal, speed metal, thrash, punk, hardcore, industrial, EBM, etc.) and made myself proficient at digital recording and editing.

So now with all that said, yes I see patterns or words in license plates where there are none. I can hear the duct work cooling and popping on a winter night even when we're watching a loud movie or I'm playing a video game. I intentionally block the rest of the world out when I'm working because much of what I do is autonomous versus the collaborative nature of other positions in my division. I drone on about programming because someone who doesn't understand it is impressed by something I find sort of mundane. But I'm also the first to start a conversation, raise a glass, lend an ear, reconstruct my entire day/week/month for a special cause.

In the end it is always a matter of perspective, and tomorrow mine will change again.

Speaking of droning on. Sorry! :ohh:

Patty, that's exactly it. I want to be me. I want to be different. I want to be sedated.

Abbie something.
Abbie something?
