Boys with beards

According to the New York Business Journal, the Campbell Soup Co. has recently dramatically increased its marketing budget with the launch of a multimedia ad campaign centered around a boy with a long beard ("The Wisest Kid in the Whole World") who advises people to have soup.

First thing I thought was that the kid reminded me of the bearded boy in those ads for the Boy Scouts that ran 3 or 4 years ago. Also, boys with beards look kinda strange.

But evidently the lesson from Madison Ave. is that boys with beards can really sell stuff.

It seems to be geared up to bring forth images of a deity. In fact 3 religious deities come right to mind. That could serve as a strong subliminal message for some.

You'd'ah thunk that long whiskers, like those, would stretch the brain cells they're attached to to the limit & break them.

There's just something creepy about the concept of a little boy with a ZZ Top beard.

I don't find it surprising that when dealing with the boy scouts some people have to have a beard

Is that the same kid in both pictures? If not, they look very close to me.
