2) Insect antennae.

3) Called a "jitterBUG."

I've studied hard on your question there, Paul, and I'm going to go with (4) Dog's Head just because you mentioned something about such in the title of your post. Without that I'd've chosen (3) JitterBUG cause it ain't'a jitterin' it's just a hangin' there all stiff like.

At first I thought that this was one frame taken from an animated cartoon and the over abundance of limbs was being used to trick the eye into seeing rapid movement.

Its a chimera. The smiling doggie face makes it less creepy.
