Chicken Shaming

I hadn't realized that chickens were capable of deviant behavior of this kind. I mean, an entire mouse? Chickens eat mice?

Yup chickens will eat mice, seen it. Hens even. They peck them to death and eat them.

They will even eat each other.

I liked the last shame sign. That's funny.

It seems to me the shame sign would go better on the human who got his face under the chicken's butt, rather than scapegoating the chicken for pooping.

If "the human" is the one shaming the chickens, it's karma pure and simple.

I was raised on a farm and cows have been seen to eat carcasses.

Yeah, very few mammals or birds are pure herbivores.

I read somewhere that chickens actually need a bit of animal material in their feed, if they are to lay good quality eggs.

Yes, have seen a magpie trying to feed a mouse to it's baby magpie. It kept complaining because it was too large and then I had to witness the mother bird tearing apart the mouse.
Apparently you cannot put bones in your compost as it would attract rodents, but give it to chickens instead. Good calcium supply.
