Christmas Tune Co-opted

Curse you, Halo Shampoo, for tricking me into thinking I was going to hear a nice rendition of "Jingle Bells."

Also, smart move you made, covering up the majority of the hair in your hair-centric commercial with hats.

@Phideaux: Couldn't understand a word she said but the vibe I got off the clip is that she's madly in love with
me and wants to have my babies.

Is it just me or is the music & singing in this commercial way better than the crap they're spewing out today?

With a name like "Halo" I expected their hair to be glowing.

The Green Chri$tma$ song (1958-Stan Freberg) is all about co-opting Christmas songs. My favorite part is at the 3://47 mark:

"We wish you a merry Christmas, and please buy our beer!"

@Expat47 -- Are you sure she didn't just want to drink your wine? ♫ Joy to the World ♫

@crc: Stole my thunder there, Dude!

@Phideaux: Well, ok, I'll force myself.

Another great cynical song about Christmas: Blue Xmas, written by Bob Dorough (who just celebrated his 92nd birthday). It was commissioned by Miles Davis, who was obligated to record a Christmas song and apparently didn't really want to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAh3Qx1zMzY

My wife alerted me to this version of The 12 Days of Christmas . While it's not the most melodious version ever sung I found myself mesmerized.
