Had one of these when I was a kid that I inherited from my big brother when he was tired of it (late 60's). It fooled no one.

That "magic" discovery has been along since at least WW2. It's called a "gas mask". You can also go for the deluxe "China anti-riot police" head gear, or if you are on a budget, the "niqab" does the trick pretty well. In all cases, if you wear it, you will be as conspicuous as if you were wearing the "Space Cadet" head gear.
