Cube Lube

If you're serious about the Rubik's Cube, then you might benefit from Cube Lube. "We've got what it takes to really move your cube!!!"

This stuff was introduced back in the 1980s, the heyday of the Rubik's Cube. It was a silicone-based lubricant. So buying a can of silicone spray would probably work just as well.

Cube lubes are still for sale. For instance, there's the Official Rubik's Lube or Lubix Cube.

Your cube must be well lubed if it is to be solved in one second flat!

I definitely bought a can of spray silicone lubricant to lube my cube when I was in highschool (early 2000s). I was able to solve it in about 45 seconds.

The lube makes a huge difference, so that you are able to make a move with just one finger, but if you are trying to do two moves in quick succession and cut it too close a corner piece will go flying!

Better watch out for the teams of Rubik's Cube Lawyers looking to bring suits for the damages casused by those flying corner pieces.

No matter how well you lube it -- I don't think it's gonna fit.

Hey guys, I haven't been around much lately but for good reason. I had to move and leave my husband because he did something unforgivable. Something that made me realize after 27 years I never knew him at all. I am in a good place now with someone special so its all good. I will try to comment and post more often now that I am getting more settled into my new life, its been a month since the move. I have shared a lot of myself on WU over the years so I wanted to share this too. Love you guys!

But, Patty, how do you feel about lubing cubes?

Matt, I have always been very pro-lube, everybody knows that honey! :cheese:

That sucks, Patty. But glad to see you back on your feet.

Cube Lube worked on other things too:

Made my Pet Rock shinier.
Gave the Cabbage Patch Kids happier faces.
Kept people from stealing my Hula Hoop.
Made the Slinky slide down just-about anything.
It even made the knobs on my Etch-A-Sketch work better.
