Drawing A Gun

A four year old draws a picture of a gun at school, might warrant a parent /teacher conference, right? Not at a Canadian school, at least the Canadian school in the story. In that school the police and social services were called and without a word of explanation, the father was arrested, strip searched and jailed for several hours. The mother was picked up and brought in to the station and all 3 of their children were taken by child protective services. Everyone backed off and the man was released but, geesh, overreact much??

Knee jerk zero tolerance bs. Soon maybe coming to us too with the way things are going. The pendulum is swinging too far, like usual.

I wonder what they would have done if the kid drew a swastika instead...
Posted by Fluffy Bunny Slippers on 02/25/12 at 08:33 AM
@FB: The swastika is a symbol of a belief/idea whereas guns are evil!

When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns.

I've developed a ZERO TOLERANCE to zero tolerance.

Expat sounds like a Nazi that likes guns

Notso Nazi but guns are OK in my book.

@Leo: Just in case, I mention that I was being facetious in an effort to point out what has become in today's Western liberalism a manic acceptance of anything that smacks of a belief and a total rejection of guns, logic, and common sense.

So what? if the kid drew a bomb would they launch a terrorism investigation? Thank the founding Fathers for the 4th amendment!
and the 2nd too!

@Leo Expat is NOT a Nazi! He is a smart ass! Like me!
And what's wrong with liking guns? This country was built by gun toting square dancers!

Tks Ty, now I've got something to live up to.

I´d much rather have the liberals to deal with than the gun toating conservative wackos
Posted by Leo on 02/25/12 at 01:41 PM
@ Expat It was the least I could do. And as W.C. Fields once said, I always try to do the least I could do!

Leo, you really need to move over here where you can get a 1st hand look at what you're talking about.

Expat, I live in Sweden and love it. From what I see on the news every single day there´s not an ice cubes chance in hell I´d ever move to Greece

Wow, a bunch of knee jerk reactions to a knee jerk reaction. Think about it, the Zero Tolerance laws came from conservative backed legislation not liberal. Look it up. Should there be a lawsuit, damn straight. Will it make a difference? Only temporarily and only benefiting pundits and saber rattlers.

@Leo: Yea, but if things keep going the way they are anyone with an outside source of income is going to be rich beyond their wildest dream!

@Baughbe: Huh? Ya lost me with the knee thing. Mine hurt enough already that we don't need to even be thinking about jerking them!

Leas said "Expat sounds like a Nazi that likes guns". Wait what? I hope that was a lame axs joke. Perhaps you would like to explain?

Sorry to post yet again, but my apologies to Leo should my snark meter require a tune up.
