Extreme Croquet

Croquet as she should be played. I and my sibs independently invented this style of playing nearly forty years ago.

If you're in New England, why not visit the Connecticut society for this sport?

The "extreme" come in to play in the weather conditions and courses they lay out for themselves. Apparently they will set up a course in the woods, and play in the snow if they have to. If you set them far enough apart you can really wack the crap out of the ball too. Sounds like fun!

That wasn't very Christian of you Maxx 😉

LOL, I guess it wasn't Jules. In my defense though, only a few of the dents in the neighbor's cars could be directly linked to me and my friends.

Extreme croquet huh? So what's next, speed tiddlywinks, freestyle badminton, full contact backgammon? Why does everything have to be "xtreme" these days? I know, let's replace the polopponies with Shire horses, quadruple the playing field and use flaming midgets as the ball. The visuals alone would be stunning.

'Croquet as she should be played' ~ curious why the feminine assignment to this game?

and it looks pretty boring to me, I must be missing something here.

OMG! I loved playing croquet when I was a kid! Wow - had totally forgotten about it. We, too, did the "extreme" thing, though not as extreme as JeffM. More along the lines of custom layouts that spanned a few football fields and occasionally involving our swimming pool.

My brother was notorious for changing the rules as we went along to favor his position and limit mine. I never caught on to it then - ok, so maybe I wasn't the brightest light bulb as a kid but I'm much better now.

Hmmmm, now that I think about it he was always winning at Monopoly and Risk too....OK - it's going to be an interesting July 4th weekend this year!!!

I'm the only one who was disapointed when they didn't see any Hockey-style beatdowns?

I used to play croquet with some of my friends. Then I moved far away, so now I have to play with myself.
Wait a minute......

I love a crowd who can turn backgammon into something dirty.
