Now this is how you encourage young girls to study engineering: by showing them refrigerators! I think it's time we brought back this neologism. "The Army Corps of Femineers!" Can you imagine the uniforms? Who wouldn't want to belong?

Of course a woman had to be an engineer at that time. She could learn mine engineering while chipping out the ice from the freezer!

This reminded me of that famous college fight song, which starts: "I'm a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech, and a hell of an femineer..."

I just recently read about that ad campaign in a book called "Truck: A Love Story" by Michael Perry. It's a good read, the International Harvester stuff aside.
