Follies of the Mad Men #117

Can you imagine Angelina Jolie touting a Kia? No? That's because there is no more glamour in Hollywood or Detroit.

I'm sure you all remember this classic. Ricardo Montalban and the 1975 Chrysler Cordoba 😊 That corinthian leather brings back some memories.

no angelina jolie should do a commercial for those hummer vehicles. she could talk about how she gave her husband brad a hummer for his birhtday. guys would go nuts watching her with those full lucious lips talking about giving a hummer. 😝

How dare you compare a DeSoto to a Kia? Even if you ignored all the facts and just focused on the type of car, DeSoto made mid-level luxury cars while Kia makes cheapo economy compacts. Plus, there are tons of movie and television stars doing car commercials today, though they usually only narrate.

By the way, ScoutC, while the cars of yore may not have been efficient or safe (although in my opinion being able to see the road is a much better safety feature than thousands of redundant airbags), they were infinitely more comfortable. Modern car seats are essentially cloth stretched over a metal frame (a recent Nissan commercial even brags that the seats are made from recycled plastic bottles, which is certainly not appealing) while the bench seats in old cars are actually sofas, with massive amounts of padding and cushions. Add in the fact that no one cared about small cars back then and you have the most comfortable and luxurious cars ever made.
