At least the soundtrack didn't sound like Rosie O'Donnell mocking an Asiatic accent.
As for Jell-O, my French instructor at college told me about spending a Thanksgiving while working in France as a Rhodes Exchange teacher in 1984. Many ingredients of a traditional American Thanksgiving meal were not available so she had her daughter send all the "trimmings" including, of course, Jell-O.
The French had no equivalent to Jell-O - the closest would be aspic, or the jelled protein that results from boiling beef bones for a long period and served along with the main course. For the French it is NOT a desert.
Her French friends took one look at the Jell-O and politely declined.

Ah lemember honerable Chinese commercial! Of course, thanks to Charlie Chan, we all spoke perfect Chinese so we could understand this one immediately.
Oh.. BTW, China had spoons as far back as 2,400BC. Just to keep the record straight.
