Back in the day, there were few broadcast networks in existence. The Du Mont network had some performers who would go on to s degree of fame after the network had folded: Jackie Gleason (ho had a prime time variety show on Sunday nights), Morey Amsterdam (the co-writer character on The Dick Van Duke Show) and Ernie Kovacs.

Unfortunately much of the DuMont archive was destroyed - a great loss. Especially the material generated by Kovacs. What little of that which survives was through the effort of his wife after his death.
