No, Dante's seven circles of hell is a different work. What it is is a cartoon based on an M C Escher artwork.

Just like Henry Ford didn't invent the automobile but did bring it to the world through his vision and genius, so did M C Escher bring to the light of day a genre he didn't invent.

As the old adage goes, "there is nothing new under the sun". But the one who gets the credit is the one who made it accessible to the masses.

That is a neat work Yogi, thanks for the info. But I do want you to know that I am aware it had nothing to do with Dante. The remark was a joking reference to the idea that being stuck in a situation like that could be considered hell.
