Here’s something that might pinterest you

Dear WUvies,

If you examine the menu in the top-right of the screen, you'll see that I've added a pinterest link. This will take you to the WU pinterest page I just created. Not a whole lot there right now, but it'll grow over time.

I'm not a huge fan of facebook and twitter, but from what I've seen of pinterest so far, I'm enjoying it because it offers such an easy way to make image galleries. I thought some galleries would make a nice supplement to the site -- allowing us to collect together and highlight some of the more unique images that have been posted here over the past 3 years, but which tend to be forgotten when they slip off the front page into the vast morass of the archive (currently at 438 pages and counting).

I think it's possible to give people permission to pin images directly to the WU pinterest boards. So if you're a pinterest fan and want to start adding to our boards, let me know.

You mean pinterest is not for the fans of Harold Pinter?!

Make sure you read the agreement with Pinterest. It holds you responsible for any copyright infringement or complaint as well any and legal costs incurred by you AND Pinterst. Just a heads up

Thanks for the warning, Craig. Since, for the most part, I'm posting images there that have already been posted on WU, we're probably already responsible for any copyright infringement. In fact, since we have ads on WU, whereas pinterest doesn't, our use of images on this site may be riskier than posting them on pinterest.

As for incurring pinterest's legal costs, I think that's just standard legal boilerplate. The DMCA protects pinterest from assuming liability for what people post there. Just as if someone posts defamatory comments here on WU, Paul, Chuck, and I aren't going to be picking up the legal costs if the comments result in a lawsuit. Rest assured, we'll do everything in our power to make sure the person who posted the comments assumes the full cost!
