I think that the term used in the broadcast industry is "bumper" and used for station identification. In the old days, broadcasting was still novel and experimental. Some that still stick in my mind from the 1960s are the adverts for Mastercard (The credit card was just being launched on a nationwide basis) and BankAmericard (Also just being launched by Bank Of America before it eventually became VISA). They were generally animated and had loud, brassy soundtracks.
