Hot Rod Hootenanny

Surely any band named "The Weirdos" deserves a place on WU.

I dug a little into the background and found that this was associated with "Big Daddy" Ed Roth, noted car and motorcycle customizer and art designer. I had no idea ...

Roth's designs and artwork are deserving of a place in the WU in their own right. Placing his musical efforts here just seems to be a final piece in the puzzle.

As a long-time listener to Dr. Demento, I am surprised to hear a 'demented' novelty tune that never seemed to get played on his radio show.

I had a blue Peugeot moped growing up I used to deliver my paper route. In the winter I would just use my legs as outriggers like a Hawaiian canoe. I still have dreams about having to get up early and do my route. The people hated when I quit as I would get off and put their paper wherever they wanted like the old folks who needed it inside the screen door. The next person just tossed it somewhere close or on the end of the driveway.

Paper delivery back then also meant you had to collect money and if you came up short too bad. You were an independent contractor. If they avoided you too bad. You could not stop their paper without the companies permission.
