The ad was in a 1951 edition but the photo looks more like my '39 than my '51 Plymouth. The '39 had a throttle and the '51 was push-button automatic!

I like the two footed drivers. You know .. one foot on the accelerator and one on the brake with the brake lights constantly on.

I actually had a Mercedes mechanic tell me that that was the way you were supposed to drive an automatic when I challenged him about his break lights being always on.

That is a bad idea. I was taught to never use my left foot on the brake because in an accident, if you panic, you might hit the wrong pedal. Left foot is for the clutch in a stick shift only.
