Interim Voting Announcement

We've gotten over sixty votes in so far! Thanks! Keep them coming!

At this moment, three captions are tied for first place. I did not really think about what to do in case of a tie. But I see two solutions:

1) Have a second, tie-breaking vote.

2) Award the prize to the person who submitted their caption earliest.

I'm tending toward #1 myself.

What do you all think?

#1 for sure, paraclete Paul. Amen.

Yes to tiebreaker ~ otherwise someone would be penalized based on their time zone!

Televised online gladitorial event using the tie-ees' preferred first person shooter duel to the death. Best 3 of 5, no camping.

Or we could just go with method 1.

I just realized we are voting on what to do if there is a tie. What happens if this vote is a tie??

In the lead by double Sam - way to go! 😊

There are now four captions tied with 30 votes each. Definitely have a vote-off of the tied entries.

I can see where this would wind up, maybe not this time but probably in subsequent contests...Save your vote for as late as possible, see where everyone stands, and make your attempt to pick the winner not based on what you think, but on the one you like best from those at the top. Hey, wait, that sounds like what happened last year at the start of the Democratic Presidential Primaries up to the general election...

If we have a tie this time, I suggest the triumvirate of Alex, Chuck and Paul decide the issue with a 2/3 majority. Who are we to trust serious decisions such as these to the common man?

That's one function I dislike about internet polls: seeing the results before you vote. If you want to see the results you need to vote first, dagnabbit! If you don't vote you don't get to see the results (until/if the final results are posted). Vote what you want, not what is most popular or what you think needs your vote.

But that's me. (I didn't look at the results before I voted and I was genuinely surprised that I was only the second vote for the caption I picked.)

qualityleashdog and Tah

I don't know about you, but I can't see the results unless I vote.

Only one way to see who would win in a tie: swimsuit competition.

I say option #1 sounds easiest and most fair.
