Ditto for my mother. As for our subject, he looks like he's giving that punt his best effort.

IIRC from the physiology course at university, since gelatin is mainly complex proteins leached from major skeletal bones it will have some benefit to those who perform active physical labor by replacing worn proteins and connective tissue. Protein can be broken down for the energy it contains, but it is harder to do than sugars and fats.
