Growing up in the 50's, I was a big fan of the sword and sandals movie genre, especially if Steve Reeves was starring in the movies. Nobody was better suited than he for the role of Hercules, and his physique inspired a lot of us impressionable boys to take up weightlifting, including yours truly. While I never came close to resembling a body builder, I did gain enough strength to finish second in my weight class in my city's first power lifting contest. (Results shown in the Sheboygan Press, June 25, 1965, on page 19 (my last name is Goebel) (https://www.newspapers.com/image/240908198/?terms=Goebel%20power%20lift&match=1)

Fritz--how great is that, being inspired by that cinematic mode! We can never tell where our heroes will come from. Also very nice that you can point to the old newspaper clip!
