EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!

I think they are leftovers from a very bad Doctor Who episode. Or badly designed sex toys. I wonder how much was paid for the contract to develop these mascots? Sometimes I think I'm in the wrong line of work.

Doh!

Anything (art or not) that needs this much explanation isn't "user friendly".

If they were 'cute', then *everybody* would think they were cute. Since not everybody agrees that they are cute, they obviously are not cute.

It is like a joke - if you have to explain it, it's not funny.

Someone is screwing up their Greek mythology. I don't remember the Cyclopes as being terribly friendly. Plus they sounded ... /bigger/.

Between that and the bizarre opening ceremony, we should all decide right now never again to give the Olympics to London.

I thought mascots were animal representations not silver teletubbies.

The summer Olympics venue should be built on some island and held there each Olympiad. Only the participants and support people should be allowed on the island during the event. Then, if countries want to be sponsors, so be it but, at least, get the @#$@#$@@ mania out of cities and away from the millions of people they disrupt.

There's a thought Expat. Watched by TV only, like the Hunger Games.

Yea, like that but, hopefully, more exciting. Just about slept through that one too.

My daughter would be appalled to hear that Expat, just appalled!
She is impatiently awaiting its release on DVD, which daddy and I will promptly get for her (she is a good kid).

Hunger Games may play well with the younger set but as far as a good S/F movies goes it was, really, rather dull.

We took her to see it at the theater and I thought it was ok. Not spectacular, but watchable. Made her happy, and that was the thing anyway.
