Years ago I made a series of collages illustrating what I called "Lesser-Known Advertising Icons." The D List of product representatives. Here's another one I just found, pictured above.

For every Tony the Tiger, there are scores of Lucy Lettuces.

Lucy reminds me of the art placed on the ends of produce and grape shipping boxes before the shippers started using cardboard. Some of the art was worthy of being hung in a gallery. (I grew up in the table and wine grape producing area of the Central Valley of California.)

Those old labels were indeed great, KDP. Sometimes you can find unused ones in vintage stores. Here's a site devoted to them:
