Murals That Move

Murals are usually large works of art or paintings used to hide an unsightly wall. But Artist Rufus B. Seder has taken murals to the next level. His Lifetile murals are "movies for a wall". Lifetiles don't use electricity, moving parts or tricky lighting. They are optical illusions, with flair. You can read more about Lifetiles, but I recommend watching the video.

This is cool. I am a big fan of optical illusions.

I went to a museum once where they had this picture where it really did look like the man's eyes followed you around the room. I must have walked back and forth in front of it about half a dozen times, marvelling at how the whole face seemed to turn left and right as I passed. I was just about to call my wife over when the "picture" raised a cup of coffee to it's mouth and took a swig.

Turns out it was a small window where the curator could sit and keep an eye on the patrons. Particularly those weirdo ones that walk back and forth in front of the window trying to stare him down.

[N.b. exaggerated for comic effect.]
