I could not even come up with a guess on this one. Read about it, that sure didn't work.

My first thought was that this was one of Tesla's constructions, but even he didn't go in for quackery or electrical cures. If you go through the article just a bit you get the feel for the age when electricity was still a new phenomenon.

I'm thinking that it's got something to do with mental health but, like Patty, I couldn't find the article either.

I was guessing medical of some sort.

A lot of the stuff on this site relates to overblown claims about new (or newly discovered) technology. We've had:
Radon
Electricity
Uranium
Homeopathy
Chiropractic (if I remember right)

Interesting to see where some of the claims of probiotics end up.

Expat--that link should bring you to the Google Books page of a technical journal. I suspect there's some hangup due to your "furriner" ISP.

@Paul: It looks like Google wants to sell me the book. They must have me confused with some Greek Shipping Magnut.

Perhaps a machine to build up a mans sexual energy?

@Gator Guy, Do you think it would work?? 😉

Demonstrating a Faraday cage...

Patty I'm not one to try out such ancient and imposing technology. But if one is desperate they might try it.

Max, that was my guess too. Failing that, a method of regrowing hair, increasing the libido and curing arthritis, all at once.

@CannyScot, I'm OK in the hair and arthritis departments, but "increasing the libido"... if that works, I'll have one. 😊
