My first thought was the Burning Man Festival, but that is held out in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada, because NYC just can't handle it.

Vincent Van Gogh tried using a hat like this to paint outside at night. It helped convince the people of Arles, France where he was living that he was crazy.

If you scroll a little further ahead in the magazine (past all the Jaegermeister ads!), take a look at the movie reviews. I think the reviewer doesn't like anything - there's a dig at something for practically every movie including ones that are classics.
