NeverWet Demonstrations

This is not really a commercial for this new Rust-O-Leum product called "NeverWet", but a really cool demonstration of the many uses by some of the research scientists.

My favorites are the cardboard box beer cooler and the chocolate and mustard sliding off the white shoes; although there are also demonstrations using cell phones and toilet brushes.

It makes me wonder if you could even wash a treated shirt -- or if it would need it. Could you get it dirty or smelly?

What would you make permanently waterproof?

I guess this makes it official that I'm not a nice person -- my first thoughts were to use it on my neighbor's bath towels, and then her toilet paper, and while I'm at it, maybe some tampons.

Considering that it isn't very durable, I'm not sure of its practical uses.

The glass demonstration did give me one 'decent' idea -- use some cheap peel-n-stick letters on glass, spray the stuff, peel off the letters, and pour on acid. If it puddles like the water did in the video, you could get a nice, deep etch. But I have to wonder if the acid would wash the stuff off.

If you used this on a shirt and wore it on a hot day, would it not be akin to wrapping up in plastic wrap. ie. You can't cool down from sweating?

However, if I could use it on my eye glasses (and it is as good as stated), I would buy it. A pet hate is coming into a warm humid room with my glasses on from minus xx outside. I get instant fog out!

Neat stuff, but the cardboard box ber cooler... seriously?
While you're emptying the box, adding the first coat, waiting for it to dry, adding the second coat, waiting for it to dry, replacing the beer, adding Ice, waiting for it to chill, I'll:
Empty box, line with trash bag, replace beer, add ice, let chill, and be enjoying a cool drink while you're still waiting for the first coat to dry!
Plus, my setup won't leak ice water all over the floor!

If you used it on a short that was ALREADY dirty, you might never get it clean again!
