New Fuel

Those crazy dudes setting off two litre bottles by dropping Mentos candy into pop have a new trick. Or rather a variation on a theme, a rocket car powered by the candy and soda combination. They're promising a you tube posting on Tuesday. We wait with bated breath! (spelling corrected 5/31 per popular demand)

i searched under mentos in pop pictures and this is one that came up under yahoo images. it is pretty cool. mythbusters did pop rocks and soda to bust the mikey myth. you know, the one that said the kid from the life cereal commercial(give it to mikey, he'll eat anything) ate pop rocks and drank a pop and died from a burst stomach. myth busted.

It takes much more force to get something moving than to keep it moving. Add a single tiny persons weight to that of the car and I don't see it being done without trickery.

Speaking of Mythbusters, I'm sure everyone remembers the water bottle launch episode. Even with all that water under pressure in dozens of bottles it barely got the dummy off the pad and into the water. Yeah .. even a toy wagon with someone on it would be hard to get moving with a reaction this slow.

yeah, i don't think they will have a rider either. that's why they are making a big deal before the video posts, it will be lame, but get a bunch of hits because of the pre-stunt hype.(yeah yeah- which i'm part of but it should be funny)
