New Meaning For Drop Dead Gorgeous

I don't keep up with fashion trends. If I can't go somewhere wearing elastic-waist pants and a baggy T-shirt, then I don't want to go. But I think I'm in the minority. Or maybe it has something to do with age. Younger folks often seem to be obsessed with their appearance and are even willing to put their lives at risk just to look "good". For example, the government of Thailand has issued a health warning that proclaims black leggings put people at risk of catching Dengue Fever. I realize that might sound a bit paranoid, but they have a compelling reason behind the warning: the mosquitoes that transmit the disease are attracted to black and can easily bite through the thin fabric used to make the leggings. I'm only attracted to the black legging crotch area I'd bite through on a lady like in the picture 😝

I picked that photo just for you 😉

And, who wants to bet that Passin' is male? I can't think of any woman that would want to be riding a riding mower in the nude... sounds like the start of a bad porno:

picture a naked woman on a riding mower... man driving by, does a bad double take, slams on the brakes... just at that moment, the riding mower breaks down... woman climbs off, bends over to poke around... man so graciously offers to help - cue music

A good friend of our has Dengue Fever and, if the bugs are attracted to black then DON'T WEAR BLACK.

BTW, they're into Florida now.

There's gotta be something about dark clothing... one theory is that since dark colors collect heat, then if you're wearing them, you are putting off more heat so the mosquitoes will find you easier.

And, Buck Tilton says "‘Skeeters use sight, smell, and heat to find a blood meal, and those people that study mosquitoes agree that the bugs see dark objects more easily than light objects."

Is it just an urban legend or is there some hard science behind it?

Nethie, the only difference between legend and science is the amount of money thrown at the subject divided by the number of people involved in the study.
