One-Armed Rider

The headline tells the whole story:
"German police apologise for fining one-armed cyclist for riding his bike with only one arm."

Technically he was fined for having only one handbrake, even though he had modified the bicycle, per legal requirements, to also have a foot-operated brake.

Give a guy a little authority and see what happens?

Related to this, I came across an item from Xiantao, China of an armless driver who had his car confiscated due to his lack of a driving license. He claims that he has driven over 100,000 accident free miles, but can't obtain a license because of his lack of limbs. He probably drives better than 90% of the dimbulbs here - at least you know he won't be yakking on a phone while driving.

A valid concern would have been how he signals his maneuvers. Presumably, along with the foot brake, he also has blinkers.

In America we always ride or drive fully armed. :cheese:

I saw an old photo of 2 men on a tandem bike. A legless man was steering while a armless man pedalled. This photo can be found by typing in "armless bicycle rider" in Google. There is also an armless man riding a motorcycle and others.

Picking on a disabled person! Over here that would have been a lawsuit.
