Orson Welles on Gambling

Back in 1978, Orson Welles did an advertising film for Caesars Palace, designed to teach would-be tourists how to gamble. I guess he needed the money. But he nevertheless goes through the rules of baccarat, craps, etc. with his distinctive style.

Alex, Are you suggesting WUcon be held in Vegas!?
Or Atlantic City!

Baccarat seems to be only slightly stupider than Texas Holdem'. Give me a good game of stud or, if you JUST HAVE TO 5 card draw but no wild cards ever.

Some fool got booted out of a game one night by calling "twos, four, whores, and mustaches wild". As far as I know, he's still playing with himself.

It looks like Wells was returning a favor to Ceasar's Palace by doing a promotional film and indulging in one of his hobbies, as he hints at the start. Wells wasn't a pauper by any measure - he may have had trouble once in a while but he always had a project in the works. You must admit that he was always a bit bigger than life.

Actually, I find Las Vegas a bit boring. Never been to Atlantic City.

@Tyrusguy etc ... I think we should start having WUParties/gatherings like Fark does. I'm sure I can get Drew to come to one of them if he gets free booze or hookers
