I wonder if the Flying A has any connection to the Flying J truck stops today.

I dimly recall a "Flying A" station in my hometown that changed to a Texaco. I didn't look for it but it is possible that there was an absorption of one company into another in there somewhere.

It would be interesting to know how successful the promotion was. Flying A would have spent a lot of money on the promotional film, as copies would have to be sent to Flying A petrol stations across the country. Flying A stations were rebranded to Phillips 66 on the west coast in 1966, and to Getty on the east coast in 1970.
