Copper is trading today for $3.33@lb so at the coin is worth $103.23.

Yes, that is why the petty thieves around here steal the copper pipes out of all the empty foreclosed houses.

Only out of empty foreclosed houses? You're bloody lucky, then. Over here they nick it from everywhere, including railway overhead cables and church roofs.

We have had a couple of electrocutions from idiots trying to steal copper from electric sub stations over here. Darwin award winners.

I propose that money be made from refined uranium. A number of benefits would be had from this:

1) Money would circulate quickly. No one could afford to hold on to any coinage for health reasons.
2) No one could hoard large amounts of money. Even in a lead lined vault, large amounts would eventually reach critical mass.
3) As a result of #1 and #2, money would be distributed evenly among everyone, thereby fulfilling the Utopian vision of fuzzy thinking liberals.
