Professor Music’s Weird Links

Hey kids! Let's measure Einsteinian relativistic-time dilation while we're on vacation!
(And remember: making your wife 20 nanoseconds younger is the Perfect Gift)

He has an X-ray, and he's not afraid to use it.

Plague chic? The Geisha mask is about the only one that doesn't scare me.

Atomic Clock family trip - Doesn't everyong have a pair of atomic clocks at home? I couldn't do this experiment, Florida has no suitable mountains.

Dumbfounded, sadly, my car can not even reach 1/1000000 the speed of light, and I can't measure nanoseconds on a stopwatch.

Thanks for your comments, "Chris in California".

Hydrogen gas isn't toxic, but in huge amounts it can be simply asphixiating -- it is explosive in concentrations as low as 4%.
A leak of sulphuric acid electrolyte is the most likely hazard, and right next to the beloved children. too.
But at least he's careful:
"Oops. Forgot to check the gas gauge. Although the car was just idling, it went through a tank of gas in less than two days."

My favorite quotes from the 'Atomic Clock Vacation':

"Waiting as cesium clocks undergo time dilation is much worse than watching a kettle boil."
"While the kids counted pages I counted picoseconds."

-- sentences heretofore NEVER written in the English language, we are blessed to see history being made.

OMG - and I thought the family vacations I had to endure as a kid sucked. The Mom was smart - she stayed home. Probably had a fantastic couple of days, too!

I liked the gas-mask bra for the couple. I could see that catching on.

I agree with your sentiment, Expat, that this whole swine flu thing is just totally over-hyped. My friends are all panicky. Everyone just needs to chill.
