Your Daily Losers
Brandon Ramsey and Hayes Robinson III were arrested in Chipley, Fla., after tossing the same Molotov cocktail at each other. Those things explode when the bottle breaks, spraying the gasoline inside against the burning rag jammed into the top of the bottle. Neither Ramsey nor Robinson seemed aware that Molotov cocktails don't work so well with plastic bottles. Daily News of Northwest Florida

Robinson get charged with "assault with deadly weapon"? It didn't explode, hence, no "deadly" to it!

ExPat, whether or not it exploded is beside the point. Its the fact that there was a high probability of it causing fatal injuries thats makes it a deadly weapon. The intention of creating the device was to injure, maim, or kill. If the fact that it didnt explode was valid, then you could use that argument for other weapons, ei. the gun use in a robbery didnt go off and wasnt fired, so therefore, it isnt a deadly weapon.
Ramsey wasn't charged with the same assault charge because he threw it at Robinson's front porch, not at Robinson himself.

I would think someone could have settled their feud by loaning them a helping hand. Let me see...
Transferring the "flammable liquid" to a glass bottle would be a good start. Then have them stand in a field and via to be the next Darwin Award Candidate. Problem solved!

Many years ago I chanced upon my cousin who was entertaining himself by throwing bullets against a brick wall. He said he liked the sounds they made as they exploded on impact.
