One strip of bacon? That's not even an appetizer!

What's pictured is actually doable. Insulated plastic housing and strip heating element. It'd be a bad idea because it'd require Lithium batteries which don't handle heat well. Smoke and fire would be the least of your worries -- think more explosion and poisonous gasses.

There is the very old dorm room trick of shoving a nail into either end of end of a hot dog. You connect these nails to a lamp cord and plug it into the 115 VAC outlet and it cooks the hot dog in less than one minuite. Using alligator clips it should work with bacon.

@BMN : Make sure you clean the residue off those alligator clips of your before using them .. hehehehe j/k

Saw a video where someone wrapped their bacon around the barrel of an AK to cook it. It seemed to work well. Don't know how many mags you have to dump, though.

I made the hotdog cooker when I was a kid. Later I made one for my own kids. it had a plexiglass cover that operated a switch when closed.

I bought a presto hot dogger cooker that worked on the same concept and cooked several dogs at the same time. yard sale $1.50 new in box 1975! It produced a better dog than a microwave!
