Romper Room, Aussie Style

Viewing this clip is a Twilight Zone experience for me--and, I expect, for others of my generation. I grew up watching ROMPER ROOM, but the Aussie accent of this gal on the Downunder version jars with my nostalgia. I've fallen into some alternate timeline.

romper bomper stomper boo, tell me, tell me, tell me, do did all my friends have fun today? (looks through mirror frame) i see bobby and jenny and sue and i'll see all of you again tommorrow on romper room. 😊

i might have seen it once or twice. actually i learned the pledge of allegence from romper room. i was 5. it was when kindergarden was optional and mom and dad didn't send me but they sure thought i was a genius for learning the pledge by heart. this was pre sesame street so rr was pretty much the educational kids show of choice. you're right paul it is strange to hear the familiar stuff with the accent.

Poor kids! Being taught by that woman with the speech impediment.

BTW, Paul, you sure this is from Australia? Not a beer or kangaroo in sight.
