Maybe I should patent crotchless union suits. Aside from the obvious, they also make it far easier to visit the out-house in minus temperature.

As I recall, men's union suits of that period had a button-up flap in back of the derriere to facilitate doing #2 in the outhouse. (Of course, for #1, there was a fly in front.) I see no such flap in the ad, but maybe they left it out, out of a sense of decorum.
