Scotty, I've known dogs that ate chocolate all their LONG lives. In fact one dog that belonged to the tavern owner would take your money, go to Gus to get a chocolate bar and bring it back to the person that bought it. She (the dog) ate AT LEAST one Hershey bar a night for years and years.

A friends German Shepherd was addicted to Slo-Pokes. How much chocolate was actually in them? No idea, but dog lived to 15.

My brother-in-law's dog tests chocolate with him all the time. Has done since the dog was a puppy.

It's the theobromine in the chocolate that is dangerous; it all depends on the type of chocolate and the size of the dog.
