Strange Russian Creature

I have no idea what this is, but I never want to meet one in the water.

Kinda looks like a trilobite to me -- but aren't they extinct?

Also kind of looks like a horseshoe crab?

Perhaps those who know what this is could enlighten the rest of us?

Well, I learned about triops today. Wasn't aware that any creatures outside of science fiction had three eyes. Anyways the first commenter, Monkey_Toes, would appear to be correct since Triops are also referred to as Tadpole shrimp or Shield Shrimp. So he gets a cookie ANNNNND a golden star sticker. On a side note I have named it WTF Shrimp based on my initial scientific impressions.
