Super Fly TNT

Everyone knows the classic blaxploitation film Super Fly. But how many are lucky enough to have seen the sequel, Super Fly TNT, with script by Alex Haley of Roots fame? It's currently out of print, and even VHS tapes go for $50.00 and up. (Follow the link below.)

Opening credits to the film are seen above, and this blog has the poster and some stills.

Plus a cut from the soundtrack!

And don't forget the special line of clothes!

I didn't know this existed. In this genre, I liked "Uptown Saturday Night" and "Let's Do It Again" with Sidney Poitier and Bill Cosby. Poitier may be a very good dramatic actor but comedy will really show how good an actor you are. Also "Cotton Comes To Harlem", with a hilarious deadpan performance by Godfrey Cambridge as a shady cop chasing through Harlem after a bale of cotton stuffed with cash.

As for the featured song and the theme through the opening credits, it just doesn't have the bounce of the Curtis Mayfield compositions from the first movie.

I do like the cool threads O'Neal is pictured wearing.

I cast around on the interweb and found a few sites about this film but the best line I came across was on IMBD; Same dude with a different plan... in another country with a different man. That pretty much says it all.
