Syncronization

This isn't, quite, the "grass growing" clip it will appear to be at first. The excitement starts to mount around the 2min mark and hits its apex about 30sec later.

Pay attention to the 2ed metronome in the last column.

This is the basis of having a column of marching troops break step when crossing a bridge. Which is actually a recent phenomena given that iron / steel was not used widely until the mid 19th century. There's a story of a French column wrecking a bridge in about 1850.

As anon noted, the table on which they all reside is also moving, slightly, reinforcing the period to which they all swing. No magic here, just physics.
