Ever hear of FaceOff on SyFy channel? TV/stage/movie make-up artists create stunningly bizarre characters. Some are beautiful, some scary, some charming, some hideous, and some a mixture of any or all of these.

Don't let its listing as a "reality show" throw you off -- there's virtually none of the stupidity of that genre. It's a challenge rather than a competition. The focus is on how they create, and the interpersonal stuff is usually how they help each other when something goes wrong.

They've created dragons and Dr. Seuss characters, mad scientists and guitar gods, funny ghosts and sexy beasts. Always something really off the wall (which I think would appeal to many here).

I'm a little late to this party and a little too early for the next party I'm planning (a fictional creature one where people dress up as creatures from their fantasy novels - Shelob, Wargs - You know the kind). I'm really curious about the Dragons and Dr. Seuss characters body paint. Do you have a link for it? I'm trying to come up with one and the nearest idea I got is from playing a 3d dragon game (http://www.schoolofdragons.com) so that I can observe their movements and see hoe it can be replicated. I've also been watching a lot of dragon movies and shows (especially Desolation of Smaug, Eragon and Merlin, the series). Point me in the right direction? @Phildeaux
